Martha Karlstad, M.D. is part of an innovative collaboration between Hirsch Clinic-Vernon Memorial Healthcare and Center Point Counseling Services Cooperative. Dr. Karlstad provides consultation, medication management for children and adolescents at either location. Dr. Karlstad holds a medical degree from the University of Nebraska, College of Medicine, and completed her psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Her areas of particular expertise include care of behavioral issues, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and adolescent substance use disorders.
Christine Dressler, APNP, PMHNP, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner which means she facilitates medication management for adults and adolescents. Christine holds an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner degree from Viterbo University, and completed her post masters certification in psychiatry and mental health at University of Wisconsin, Madison. Christine’s areas of particular expertise include care of elderly, depression, anxiety, and grief. Christine is a volunteer for the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Association, Wisconsin ALS Association, and Wisconsin Junior High and High School Rodeo Association(s).
Currently, Dr. Katie Fassbinder-Getz, one of the cooperatives founding members, provides psychiatric consultation and supervises the clinical practice at Center Point. She offers educational seminars in Vernon and La Crosse counties on a variety of mental health topics. Dr. Getz also collaborates with local medical providers as they address their patients’ mental health needs.
